TETHYS

Water on the surface.
Wetness in the fabric.

The native surface-liquid solver for Cloth neXt. TETHYS models how water flows across a surface, is absorbed into a material and evaporates over time.

Currently for GAIA testers. Your existing GAIA access covers TETHYS.

TETHYS · Surface-liquid engine

More than a wet surface.

Water on a material and water inside it are different states. TETHYS tracks surface liquid and material saturation separately.

Flow across the surface
Surface water moves across the mesh. Material settings describe its mobility, repellency and retention.
Absorb and spread
Absorption moves water into the material. Capacity and capillary transport describe how much it can hold and how moisture spreads.
Dry over time
Evaporation is part of the solve, so wetness can change throughout a sequence.

Native computation.
A Blender workflow.

TETHYS is bundled with Cloth neXt. The add-on prepares the bake and starts the native engine; the engine computes the wetness sequence and writes the result cache.

A dedicated surface-liquid solver

TETHYS handles surface liquid and material wetness. AETHER remains the Core Engine for cloth; GAIA is the Extended Engine for simulation research.

Built around material behaviour

Absorption, capacity, repellency, wicking, retention and evaporation describe how a material responds to water.

One GAIA invitation.
TETHYS included.

GAIA is currently invite-only. If your PolyWorks account has GAIA access, it also has access to TETHYS.

Use your existing account in the add-on. There is no separate TETHYS registration or activation. Buying Cloth neXt on Superhive does not change your GAIA eligibility.
